Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov was dismissed and appointed as the head of National Security Committee by President Nursultan Nazarbayev. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev was appointed as acting PM, Kazinform reported.
Massimov headed the government of Kazakhstan from 2007up to 2012. During the period from 2012 to 2014 he was head of Administration of the President of Kazakhstan. Once again he headed the government in April 2014 and retained the post after holding early presidential elections on April 26, 2015.
