YEREVAN. - The preliminary investigation into the case of seven people accused of the clashes in Yerevan’s Khorenatsi street and near the police station building has ended.

The preliminary investigation proved that a number of protestors at the intersection of Khorenatsi and Kristapor streets presented unsubstantiated demands to the police and attacked the police officers, carrying out their duties.

The attackers fought hand-to-hand and used different objects, including stones and bottles, to damage the property of the police. They also tore off and damaged the road signs and broke the windows of the nearest shop and fuel station.

Seven people have been charged with taking part in the mass unrest in Yerevan on July 20. Their cases have been transferred to the court.

The investigation into the others’ cases is underway.
