Military serviceman Arman Ghandilyan, 19, who died at a combat position of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Defense Army, was laid to rest Saturday, with a military procedure.

Pargev Hakobyan, a member of the council of elders of Gavar town in Armenia, informed about the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ghandilyan was buried in the Gavar cemetery.

The soldier, who was born in 1997, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound around his left cheek, on Wednesday at around 1:30am.

With a decree signed by NKR President Bako Sahakyan, Arman Ghandilyan was posthumously awarded with the Medal for Service in Battle, and in recognition of his bravery during the defense of the Artsakh state border.

Ghandilyan was a resident of Gavar, and the only child of his family. He was drafted into the army one year ago.
