Galina Melnichuk, the wife of the former head of the regional state administration Maxim Melnichuk, reported to the police about his missing husband, 112 Ukraine reports.

In the woman’s words, she last talked to him on Friday. Melnichuk’s advisors are also not aware of his whereabouts.

On Saturday night search was carried out in the couple’s house, Galina said. “I was told late in the evening that unknown armed people entered our house and didn’t let anyone out,” she stated, noting that dummy witnesses took part in the investigative processes.

Upon the decree of the Ukrainian President, Maxim Melnichuk was dismissed from the post of the Kiev governor. He submitted his resignation several days before that.
