Azerbaijani Ambassador to U.S. Elin Suleymanov  is called for consultations in Baku, haqqin.az reported quoting sources familiar with the situation.

According to the newspaper, this event has coincided with the chill in relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S. caused by critical publications in the Washington Post newspaper, known for its proximity to the White House. The article authored by former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Kauzlarich and former employee of State Department David Kramer actually offered to impose sanctions against the leadership of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that haqqin.az wrote an article which called official Baku to respond. One of the measures named by the website was to recall the Azerbaijani ambassador from Washington for consultations.
