The protracted presidential campaign in Austria will continue for three months more. The parties agreed with  the Austrian Interior Ministry upon the voting day dated on December 4 of 2016, reports the RIA Novosti.

Previously, the elections were scheduled on October 2 . The government had to postpone the elections due to defects in production of voting ballots. In addition, the Austrian Constitutional Court cancelled the results of the second round because of the irregularities in the vote count .

Thus, Austria still has to stay at least half a year without a President. The functions of the president has been so far successfully performed by the  Presidium of the National Council. However, the question who will make the Christmas speech still remains unanswered .
