In his speech at a meeting with the EU and ambassadors the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged not to recognize legitimacy of Russia’s parliamentary elections, which Moscow is trying to carry out " in temporarily occupied Sevastopol and the Crimea ."
According to the Ukrainskaya Pravda, Poroshenko stressed the importance of maintaining a policy of " non-recognition of the illegal annexation of Crimea " , where " the situation with regard to human rights is getting worse." He confirmed that Ukraine remains a supporter of a political and diplomatic settlement of the situation in Donbass. At this stage , according to Poroshenko , the main efforts should be directed at the preservation of security in compliance with the Minsk agreements .
