YEREVAN. – Armenian Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan on Monday met with Rolandas Kačinskas, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

They reflected on the initiatives toward the promotion of bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Separately, Kačinskas stressed the importance of successful negotiations on the new Armenia-European Union (EU) framework agreement. Ambassador Mkrtchyan, for his part, highlighted that these talks are expected to be completed in the near future. He added that Armenia develops its relations proceeding from the precepts of cooperation and good neighborly relations.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed regional security and stability. In addition, a special reference was made to Armenia’s outlook on and efforts toward achieving a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict, especially after the aggression which Azerbaijan had unleashed in early April.
