The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry discussed the situation in Syria over the phone, reports the Russian Foreign Ministry website . The conversation took place on the American initiative .

“The focus was made on the implementation of the Russia-U.S. agreement of September 9 aiming to strengthen the regime of ceasing military actions in Syria, to provide humanitarian aid to the peaceful population, and to organize joint efforts against terrorism,” the ministry says.

Lavrov drew Kerry’s attention to the fact that a number of illegal armed groups refuse to join the truce. In addition, Russia's foreign minister has offered to publish the Russian-American agreement on the settlement of the Syrian issue, in order to avoid of any ambiguity in the international community in regard to their implementation of the actions directed to fulfill the agreement."
