YEREVAN. - A rally in support of the Sasna Tsrer armed group has kicked off in Yerevan’s Liberty Square.

The organizers informed that such rallies are currently held in fourteen cities of the world, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

“Protests in support of Sasna Tsrer group are staged in fourteen cities of the world. This is also a protest of solidarity. Our compatriots thereby show that they haven’t forgotten their homeland and are by our side. If the country is normal, a considerable number of people will think of returning to Armenia. We must increase our population also through immigration,” Hayazn Party member Armen Hovhannisyan said.

For his part, Heritage Party Vice Chairman Armen Martirosyan in his speech referred to yesterday’s incident in Etchmiadzin, which according to him reflects the situation in the entire republic.

“Another apparent fact is the stabbing of a driver by the father of 7-year old boy, who was knocked down and killed in Hrazdan city. This means that the father who lost his son has no faith in the courts; injustice dominates here. People are currently leaving Armenia not because of socially unfavorable conditions but because of injustice. Armenians began emigrating since the first rigged elections of the 1990s. Аnd what Sansa Tsrer demands is exactly justice,” Armen Martorisyan said.

The rally is held in darkness; the electricity is not on in the Liberty Square.

Exactly two months ago, Sasna Tsrer armed group seized the Erebuni police station in Yerevan.
