U.S. presidential candidate from Republicans Donald Trump used $258,000 from charity fund Donald J. Trump Foundation in personal interests, The Washington Post reported.

The newspaper noted that the businessman spent money from the fund to pay penalties of his companies.

In one case, from 2007, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club faced $120,000 in unpaid fines from the town of Palm Beach, Fla., resulting from a dispute over the height of a flagpole.

Also The Washington Post managed to learn that in 2014 Trump spent $10,000 of the foundation’s money on a portrait of himself bought at a charity fundraiser.

In case the tax administration of the USA confirms that the billionaire has broken the law, he will be obliged to pay a penalty or to compensate fund all spent money.
