YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received the participants of the Pan-Armenian Scientific Conference, including renowned Armenian scientists from U.S., Russia, Japan, Denmark, Germany, Spain and a number of other countries.

The conference is held in Yerevan from September 21 to 23. It has been organized in the framework of Young Scientists Support Program and is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

The President welcomed the scientists in their homeland and congratulated them on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Sargsyan underscored the importance of holding the Pan-Armenian Scientific Conference in Yerevan, this event being attended by the renowned Armenian scientists from almost all the fields of science.  

According to the President, such events are not only a good opportunity to unite the Armenian scientists worldwide, but also to use their experience and network to properly present the young Armenian scientists at international platforms and  share with them the modern tendencies in the science development.

The scientists taking part in the meeting told the Armenian President about their impressions and expectations from the event.

Sargsyan also responded to the questions of interest to the scientists, briefing them on the key directions of public policy in the sphere of education and science, as well as the projects aimed at encouraging the young scientists and supporting their activity.  

Apart from this, the Armenian scientists exchanged ideas with the President on the further joint cooperation for the development of education and science in Armenia.
