YEREVAN. – The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has publicized the preliminary results of Sunday’s local government election in Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia.
The respective votes were cast as follows: Balasanyan Alliance, 14,987votes; Prosperous Armenia Party, 9,344 votes; Haykakan Veratsnund (Armenian Rebirth)—former Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law)—Party, 4,578 votes; Civil Contract Party, 638 votes; Gyumri Resident’s Spirit, 2,475 votes; Armenian National Congress Party 471 votes; ruling coalition junior partner Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, 2,313 votes; Consolidation Party, 2,469 votes; Business, 556 votes; GALA, 4,517 votes; and Alliance Party, 774 votes.
The total number of eligible voters in Gyumri is 125,983, and 45,670—or 36.25 percent—of these voters cast their ballots on Sunday.
