An investigation concerning the reasons of the Smolensk accident on April 10, 2010 is extended for a year and two months. Such decision was made by national Prosecutor's Office of Poland, Polish Radio reported.

On September 21 National Prosecutor's Office of Poland announced resumption of four proceedings concerning plane crash near Smolensk.

Polish president Lech Kaczyñski’s Tu-154 plane crashed while landing at Smolensk North Airport in 2010. All 96 people onboard – 88 passengers and eight crew members flying for memorial service in Katyn, have been killed.
