Armenian small and medium enterprises can also be successfully presented in London Stock Exchange (LSE), announced the LSE Russia and CIS primary markets’ head Ayuna Nechaeva during a seminar organized by Ameriabank.
According to her, it is important to understand that LSE is not only for large companies and developed financial markets. There are listed 5 companies with Georgian assets in the LSE: three of them in the premium segment, the other two at the AIM platform for developing companies. “Thus, one should not have a multi-billion-dollar business in order to get accepted into the London Stock Exchange. The capital of 400-500 million is enough to become a member of the main platform. Alternatively, one can be listed in the AIM platform, in case of owning less,” said Nechaeva.
When asked securities of what amount the Armenian companies that want to pass the listing can include, she said. "This seminar has been organized by Ameriabank, which is more competent to assess the local market. However, to a first approximation, the companies that operate in the financial, mining, and infrastructure sector can raise interests of foreign investors. Of course, they need to fit to the LSE standards, which means that they need to publish in a required format their financial reports, reorganize their Board of Directors, including independent directors, "added Nechaeva.
Ameriabank CJSC is the largest bank in Armenia in terms of assets, credit portfolio, investments, and liabilities. The total capital of the bank at the moment makes about 200 million dollars.
