The commission of the Greek Interior Ministry will not provide shelter for another six Turkish officers, who arrived in Greece after the attempted coup in Turkey. On July 16, eight soldiers arrived to Greece by helicopter, stating that they had no involvement in the coup attempt, but they are threatened be killed in Turkey.

Seven out of eight soldiers had been rejected on the grounds of participating in the attempted coup, which is a "terrorist act", writes www.enikos.gr, referring to the statement of the militants’ lawyer Stavrula Tomara.

"We are surprised by the asylum office’s decision that apart from our fair request for asylum, it also characterizes us as terrorists," the military said in a statement issued by their lawyer, reports the RIA Novosti.

The soldiers’ lawyer expresses a hope that the Greek government would adopt a position of the other five EU member states, which provided international protection to soldiers who had requested for asylum in their territories, after the attempted coup.
