The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) discussed the Panama Papers during its plenary session on Tuesday.  

The report was made by Austrian deputy Stefan Schennach, Armenian News – NEWS.am special correspondent reports from Strasbourg.

According to the studies, 10 percent of European capital is registered in offshore, which means that billions of dollars don’t enter the budget annually. The already published lists mention 123 persons whose companies are registered in offshore.

In April, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) published an investigation based on the documents of Mossack Fonseca, which provides legal and consultation services to offshore companies.  Among other things, the Panama papers include the names of EU officials, former Chief of Armenia’s Compulsory Enforcement Service Mihran Poghosyan, as well as Azerbaijani President’s family.
