Paris regrets the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin not to visit French capital for discussion of a situation in Syria, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault stated.

He told Europe 1 that France was ready to discuss the situation in Syria with Vladimir Putin, Interfax reported.

Earlier, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov reported that the Russian President has cancelled his visit to Paris, which was scheduled for 19 October. Kremlin explained cancellation of the visit with fallout of a number of events from the program and declared that the Russian President would go to Paris when it was comfortable for Hollande.
