The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states call upon all other countries to follow suit and assume a political commitment not to deploy weapons in space.  

The aforesaid is noted in the CSTO Foreign Ministers’ joint statement issued within the framework of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly, informed the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The CSTO member states are confident that one of the primary tasks of the international community is the signing of an international agreement that will prevent the deployment of weapons and the use of force in space,” the statement, reads, in particular.

The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
