It will be illogical on the part of the EU to set new sanctions against Russia in regard to the Syrian issue. In this case the EU will manifest a dependent position, said the Russian Foreign Ministry speaker Maria Zakharova at a press briefing on October 13.

According to her, Russia will react to plausible sanctions "Of course if all these be reflected at a business level, we will react to it," said Zakharova. Restrictions, according to her, directly affect economies of the countries that apply them. "Now we are talking about new sanctions. However, they are accompanied by processes that take place in various bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular related to the settlement of the Syrian issue. A strange, illogical, and dependent position, manifested by countries is harmful for them," said Maria Zakharova, reports the Interfax.
