The French Senate on Friday will discuss the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.

The senators started debates on amendments to the draft bill of “Citizenship and Freedom” on October 12, but after midnight president of the senate decided to postpone the discussion for two days.

The articles 37 and 38 refer to criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial.

The discussions were followed by the French Armenian organizations Coordinating Council (CCAF) Chairs Mourad Papazian and Ara Toranian.

According to the newspaper of French-Armenians “Haratch”, at the time of debates Senate President Gerard Larcher received the speaker the Turkish National Assembly Ismail Kahraman, and this was followed by the a dinner of the French-Turkish group of friendship.
