At least 14 people participating in a private party were abducted in Guerrero state, Mexico, RIA Novosti reported.

The crime was committed on Thursday night in San Jerónimo municipality, Tierra Caliente district where gangs have perpetrated a series of mass abductions.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of armed people kidnapped a private party participants and took them away in an unknown direction. Some of the relatives of the missing have received phone calls from kidnappers demanding ransom money.

The police consider that abduction may have been perpetrated by a criminal group known as Los Tequileros. The authorities have already launched an investigation into the case. The situation is complicated by the fact that there are no municipal police in this village.
