YEREVAN. - Anahit Tarkhanyan, the wife of “Rise up, Armenia” initiative member Andrias Ghukasyan, who took part in the mass disturbances in Yerevan’s Sari Tagh district, claims that her husband has been slandered.

Tarkhanyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the case launched against her husband failed, but to maintain the accusations a new ‘agent’ witness has now been involved.

In her words, various journalists testified in favor of her husband, noting that Andrias didn’t organize, but conversely, was trying to prevent unrest.

“The case actually failed. On the basis of witnesses’ testimonies it was established that Andrias Ghukasyan, Davit Sanasaryan, Armen Martirosyan and other guys didn’t take part in the unrest. Thus, they involved a “witness,” who gives “necessary” testimonies,” Tarkhanyan said.

Earlier, attorneys of Andrias Ghukasyan, Inessa Petrosyan and Karen Mezhlumyan,  stated that they studied the witness’ testimonies and found out that he has been twice convicted previously.
