The police neutralized a bomb near the US Embassy in Manila police near the US Embassy in Manila. The local media, referring to the police, reported that a suspicious parcel was found in a trash. The embassy staff was evacuated from the embassy by the instruction of the police, whereas the neighboring streets were locked down for two hours, reports DW.

Later, it turned out, that a discharge found in a trash was connected to a mobile phone. According to media outlets, there were registered two explosions, while neutralizing the parcel.  The police also investigated the area near the embassy. According to the police, the explosive device found was reminiscent of the bomb, which was put into operation on September 15 in the southern part of Philippines, in Davao. At that time, the explosion killed 15 people.
