The European Union has extended economic sanctions against Russia on Monday after implementing by law a decision endorsed by the leaders of EU member states.
The sanctions against Moscow have been adopted in July 2014 in response to Russian actions in Ukraine. The latest extension of the sanctions has been adopted due to the failure of Minsk agreements on Ukraine.
The sanctions will be enforced until July 31, 2017, the European Council said in a statement.
