The EU Council has approved introduction of a visa-free regime between the countries of community and Georgia, press service of the Council reported.

“On 27 February 2017, the Council adopted a regulation on visa liberalisation for Georgians travelling to the EU for a period of stay of 90 days in any 180-day period,” a statement of the European Council noted.

On March 1, legislative changes will be signed by the president of European Parliament and representative of the Maltese presidency of the Council of the EU. After that, the legislative changes will be published in the Official magazine of the European Union. The regulation will enter into force in 21 days after the publication.
