YEREVAN. – The Foreign Minister of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria, Walid al-Muallem, on Monday exchanged messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, Nalbandian stated that the friendly relations between the two nations are anchored in the solid foundations of mutual respect and trust, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Also, the FM stressed that Armenia constantly voices the importance of establishing peace and security in Syria, condemns terrorism, and provides humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria.
In addition, Edward Nalbandian expressed a conviction that the two countries will be able to further expand and deepen cooperation.
In his message, Walid al-Muallem noted that the establishment of Armenia-Syria diplomatic relations embodies the historical ties between the Syrian and the Armenian peoples, and expresses a will to develop relations.
Also, he stressed that Syria appreciates Armenia’s favorable positions on the terrorist aggression against Syria.
