YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received Foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Kotzias.

Welcoming the guest, the President stressed that the Armenian-Greek ties have a millennial history, which is full of various friendly manifestations based on which the two states have formed close friendly relations throughout 25 years after the independence of Armenia.

President Sargsyan also noted that Armenia wishes to further deepen and expand the existing cooperation with Greece, as well as intensify the political dialogue and give new impetus to the economic relations, bringing them to the existing high level of political relations.

Greek FM Kotzias, for his part, said that he fully agrees with the Armenian President on that issue and thinks that it is necessary to strengthen these friendly and deep feelings between the two peoples though developing cooperation in all the spheres. Furthermore, he assured that Greece has a political will to do this, there being a legal ground for this, namely over three dozens of agreements and treaties. 

The interlocutors also attached importance to the performance of consistent work aimed at continuing and strengthening the cooperation in the sphere of education, including military education, as well as culture, economy, transportation, tourism, etc.

Moreover, FM Nikos Kotzias stressed that all the conditions are in place for establishing strategic relations and partnership between Greece and Armenia.
