Today, the main task of Armenian nation is strengthening of Armenian statehood, RA Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan stated at the meeting with Armenian community representatives in Syria.

“When Karabakh people took up a fair struggle for their self-determination, there were people who treated freedom fighting and defeating superior numbers of enemy forces with disbelief. However, Karabakh people united all Armenians and not only won the Azerbaijan-unleashed war, but gave an adequate rebuff to the enemy,” Abrahamyan stated. According to him, despite Azerbaijan’s warlike statements and regular ceasefire violations, Armenia remains committed to the principle of peaceful resolution to Karabkh conflict within OSCE Minsk Group. “In the person of its President, Armenia firmly stated that Nagorno-Karabakh has never been a part of Azerbaijan, nor will it be,” Abrahamyan noted.

“Armenia has always been guided by the logic of resolution of all problems and contradictions in a civilized way, which is a dialogue,” he concluded.
