The Islamic State (IS) militants that fled Mosul may go to Afghanistan, political scientist Karine Gevorgyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
As per the analyst, however, information about the real situation in this northern Iraqi town can be ascertained solely from Russian, Iranian and Turkish media outlets and from Al Jazeera TV.
“Western media are attempting to hide information,” she added stressing that there is a real humanitarian disaster in Mosul.
And when asked where the IS militants that fled Mosul will try to relocate, Gevorgyan recalled that the corridor leading to Syria was open to them in advance. In her view, the option to go to Afghanistan also cannot be ruled out.
