At the OSCE summit Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to intensify efforts to resolve the Karabakh conflict, NEWS.am correspondent reports from Astana.

He noted that the Karabakh conflict should be resolved based on the Madrid Principles and only through peaceful negotiations.

All the speakers at the summit touched upon the conflicts in OSCE territory – in Transnistria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Karabakh. As to the first three conflicts, necessity to solve them based on the territorial integrity is stressed. As to the Karabakh conflict, the speakers mention it should be resolved peacefully based on negotiations.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, the OSCE Summit opened on December 1 in Astana. The delegation headed by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan arrived in Astana on November 30. The delegation comprises Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Ambassador-at-Large Arkadiy Ghukasyan and deputy head of presidential staff Vigen Sargsyan.
