At least 155 people were killed in a militant bomb and gun attack on a mosque in Egypt’s northern Sinai region, Reuters reported.

State news agency MENA earlier reported the toll was 115 dead and more than 100 more wounded.

Witnesses say the al-Rawda mosque in the town of Bir al-Abed, near al-Arish, was targeted during Friday prayers.

Local police said men in four off-road vehicles opened fire on worshippers, AP reported.

No claim of responsibility has yet been made.
