Islamic State has suffered final and complete defeat in Syria, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, RT reported.
“Islamic State suffered final and complete defeat, the president gave relevant assessments. Remaining hotbeds do not represent any serious threat. They will be suppressed,” said Russian Foreign Minister.
According to Lavrov, a complicated situation remains in Idlib.
“Together with Turkish, Iranian and Syrian colleagues we are carrying out the work to start the operation of the de-escalation zone in this part of Syrian Arab Republic as effectively as possible," said Lavrov, adding that Russia has no plans with the US on this Syrian region, since it will be ineffective.
