Azerbaijan and Turkey were knocked out by recent unpredictable developments, director of the Armenian Genocide museum Hayk Demoyan said at today’s press conference. He pointed out disclosure of secret cables by WikiLeaks website and publications in the Italian Il Foglio regarding Azerbaijan’s first lady Mehriban Aliyeva. According to him, another crucial thing is Armenia responded to Azerbaijan’s statements.
As to Turkey, it found itself in two humiliating situations regarding Armenian Genocide resolution discussed in the U.S. Congress. “In April Turkey was suffering from Armenian fever. It tried to justify itself saying nothing extraordinary happened. Late in 2010 it appeared Turkey is not secured against such developments,” Demoyan stressed.
The expert noted that the Armenian Genocide resolution will never be entirely removed from U.S. foreign political agenda, as it is an effective measure to pressurize Turkey.
