At the end of last year, Armenia’s foreign debt totaled U.S. $3.38 billion. This year it may reach U.S. $3.8 billion or 42% of GDP, Gagik Minasyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance, Credit and Budgetary Affairs, RA Parliament, told journalists Jan 13.

“A national debt constituting 42% of GDP is within the norms set for countries with small and medium-sized debts. But we will do our best to reduce this debt burden,” he said.
