Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan received Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg to discuss issues related to human rights protection in the Armenian armed forces.

The Defense Minister presented reforms carried out to improve mechanisms of human rights protection in the armed forces, RA Defense Ministry press service informed NEWS.am.

Seyran Ohanyan and Thomas Hammarberg shared opinion that it is necessary to intensify activities towards increasing legal awareness of servicemen in order to strengthen protection of human rights in the armed forces
