Changes in US policy, following US decision to withdraw from the Iranian nuclear deal, affected transatlantic relations for the long term, said German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas in an interview with Spiegel.

According to him, the European Union intends to act in a more self-confident way in its relations with US.

EU is ready for both dialogue and talks, but it will defend its positions if necessary, TASS reported referring to Maas.
