Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan is dissatisfied with the Armpost Company. At his Jan. 25 meeting with journalists he said a new Armpost manager may replace the current one, Armpost Trust Management, which is owned by Eduardo Eurnekian.
The Minister said that Armpost should be operated on concession, as the trustee is not obliged to invest his own funds. The ministry must demand information on investments from the company managers.
“If we get satisfactory information, we are ready to discuss a concrete investment program,” the minister said.
Vardanyan is also dissatisfied with the pension payment process. From January 1, 2001, the Armpost Company took charge of the process. However, the company is not sufficiently equipped for it.
