On January 27, the oath-taking ceremony will be held for new U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza in Washington, spokesman for the US embassy in Azerbaijan Kit Bin told APA agency.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to U.S. Yashar Aliyev is expected to attend the event.

Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza will arrive in Baku in early February.

Matthew Bryza is a career diplomat, former Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.  In December 2010 U.S. President Barack Obama announced recess appointments, which include Matt Bryza (to Azerbaijan) and Frank Ricciardone (to Turkey). The Armenian lobby in U.S. opposed Bryza’s appointment.
