The process of self-determination of Southern Sudan is a precedent for Nagorno-Karabakh, Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told a press conference.

According to him, an example of Southern Sudan has shown that a victory march of the right of self-determination continues in the world. The parliamentarian stressed that peace is the only way to resolve the Karabakh dispute.

“The only way to resolve the Karabakh conflict is to hold a new referendum or to recognize the results of the plebiscite of 1991, which was in conformity with the law of the Soviet Union, as well as international law,” Sharmazanov underscored.
