Social revolutions do not threaten Armenia, Spokesman for Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told a press conference, commenting on the recent events in Africa.
He ruled out a social outcry in Armenia, stressing the Republican Party is seeking to strengthen the state.
According to Sharmazanov, not only social problems, but also a system of values led to the recent events in Egypt. “Of course, there are social problems in Armenia too, but unlike Egypt, the Armenian authorities do not pursue an ostrich policy,” the MP said.
The parliamentarian noted revolutions take place in countries, where the authorities are at a standstill, have no political strength and will to implement reforms. “Armenian President has both strength and will,” he stressed.
