According to the information at the Zhoghovurd daily’s disposal, Chief Military Inspector and Presidential Advisor Mikael Harutyunyan was offered to assume the post of Chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces. According to the source, Harutyunyan set two preconditions. First, the incumbent Chief of General Staff Yuri Khachaturov should not assume any post in the army and the second, the President must not interfere into his appointments.

However, in a conversation with the daily Harutyunyan refutes these reports.
