The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) will issue on Thursday a type certificate for the latest Russian plane Sukhoi Superjet-100, ITAR-TASS reported.
The certificate allows aircraft’s commercial operation and confirms compliance with the aircraft rules and regulations of the Interstate Aviation Committee.
Sukhoi Superjet-100 is to replace presently operated Tu-134. The Armenian Armavia air company is expected to receive the first aircraft in early 2011. The first airplane was named Yuri Gagarin.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a modern Russian fly-by-wire regional jet.
