The Armenian Foreign Ministry keeps in touch with the Armenian citizens who are in Egypt at the moment.

No information about injured citizens of Armenia has been received, Tigran Balayan, spokesperson for the Armenian foreign office, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to recent information, over 200 Armenian citizens are in Egypt, the majority of them in the resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.

On the night of February 2 president Hosni Mubarak announced he would not run for presidential elections when his term ends in September and promised critical constitutional reforms. However, the situation is still strained, majority of the oppositionists still demand president’s resignation.
