PACE decision on the re-formation of the Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh remains controversial in PACE. This decision conflicts with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries’ calls to refrain from activities, which can significantly damage the peace process, Azg daily writes citing a diplomatic source.

At his January 13 press conference, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed the importance of preserving the current format of the conflict resolution.

In this regard, Russia and France, as OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries expressed their discontent with PACE Bureau’s decision. They stressed PACE Bureau will shoulder all responsibility for negative consequences of this decision.

“The mediators also called on PACE President to show respect for the current format of the Karabakh peace process. Politicians having no idea of the details of Karabakh peace process can no way assist the negoratitaion process,” the daily writes.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, on January 28, the subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh resumed its activities at the CE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE).
