An inflation rate forecast issued by the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) included no changes in gas prices, the CBA representative told the journalists on Monday.

Arthur Stepanyan, head of the CBA monetary police department, said they cannot do it until official statement regarding gas price is made.

Head of Gazprom Alexei Miller has recently said that in the future the company will sell gas at market rates to Armenia, but the final decision has not been made yet.

The CBA forecasts an inflation rate of over 9.5% for the 2nd quarter of 2011 – one of the highest indicators over the last 15 years. It is difficult to say what will happen if gas price goes up as well. For the end of 2011 the Central Bank forecasts an inflation rate of 5.5% to 7.5%.
