If any government official claims MPs or oligarchs block Government-submitted bills…
"I am contented with the post of Parliament Speaker, and I am not going to run for presidency, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan told journalists.
"You cannot just imagine the responsibility the presidential post implies. Among our nation`s weak points is that every one, irrespective of being able or not, wants to become president," Abrahamyan said. He said his dream was to become Prime Minister. Now, however, he prefers the post of Parliament Speaker, as it is superior. As to the Gvernment`s frequent attempts to bush certain bills through Parliament, Abrahamyan said: "Who is dictating? Listen, if any government member, including the Premier, claims they dictate their will to the Parliament, they will be disappointed."
In approving Government-submitted bills the Parliament only helps the Government resolve problems. If any government official claims MPs or oligarchs block Government-submitted bills, they are liars, Abrahamyan said.
