Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov claimed responsibility for Domodedovo blast killing 36 people. In a video posted late Monday on the Kavkaz Centre website Umarov stressed the attack was carried out on his order.

According to him, the attack in Domodedovo is a response to killings of Muslims not only in the Caucasus but the entire Islamic world. He also said the terrorist attack was directed against “chauvinistic regime” of Premier Vladimir Putin, Russian Utro.ru website reported.

Last spring he claimed responsibility for twin suicide attacks on the Moscow metro killing 39 people.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a blast rocked international section of Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on January 24, 2011. The death toll reached 36, another 200 were injured.
