On February 7, dozens of cars and lorries were stranded and drivers trapped for many hours in several regions of Armenia after a heavy snowfall hit most part of the republic.

Emergency service personnel and volunteers helped stranded drivers and trapped passengers on Gandzak-Sarukhan road section in Gegharkunik region, Martuni-Vardenis and Ara-Buzhakan roads.

Many villages were virtually cut off with vehicles stuck on the main routes. As of 8:00 p.m. the traffic was moving slowly in the affected areas, Armenian rescue service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
