Parliamentarians must be stripped of parliamentary immunity, MP from Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnakstutyun (ARFD) told reporters on Tuesday, stressing ARFD is for the replacement of exsiting  presidential system with a parliamentary one.

Referring to the possible adoption of bicameral parliamentary system with the participation of Diaspora Armenians, Rustamyan said he only backs the idea. “Armenian Diaspora is in need of integrating into Armenian issues. It should not only be engaged in problems on Armenian Genocide and Karabakh peace process, but also pan-Armenian issues,” Rustamyan noted.

Commenting on the statement that creation of a bicameral parliament is a gift from Armenian authorities to ARFD, the MP emphasized: “This idea is ours. It is still early to speak of gifts, as its implementation will take much time,” he concluded.
